muggedam Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 (edited) Game frezzes random Hi. I be having problems with my DCS i some month now.actually since f 16 came out. I read nearly every day in this forum to see if some body had my kind of problems, was it my pc . I went so far to make completely new installation on own SSD all moduls and maps, Repair ect. Problem continuous. Game frezze most in multi player job list on pc says no response. I've discovered it happens when somebody connects, or leave server. But whether it has anything on it dont know. But also in single player. Evern I seldom do that. I look over my log file, but I am no expert, so, ?? any suggestions I'm about to be somewhat annoyed at it, after thousands of Kroner (danish dollars) being invested in this simulator. muggedam Posted January 14, 2020 Author Posted January 14, 2020 (edited) Try DCS on the other drive, do you notice a difference? DCS is a brand new installation on the new Lenovo 512 GB SSD drive, which is only used for DCS I use to have DCS in both stable version and beta. But transitioning to a new PC and moving disk drives provide different versions in saved games. Therefore, a whole new installation to clean up. Edited January 14, 2020 by muggedam

This time I did't even get out of hangar. some times it happens after 2 min , sometimes after 30 min, you never can tell. like a big lag.
BitMaster Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 Does it only happen in DCS or do you also have those freezes in general ? I have those too with any Intel RST driver later than 16.2 Since that driver is for your drives and we both have many drives attached, it could be the IRST driver. Try 16.2 and see if it goes away IF you also have them freezes ie in YT videos. It's hard to tell if you have them on the desktop unless you recognize it wont respong for a few seconds until it recovers. That bug is well known for certain configs. So you say Il update the drivers for harddrives ? to be honest i don't know how it's done. where can I see what driver my computer is running atm. Edited January 14, 2020 by muggedam
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted January 14, 2020 ED Team Posted January 14, 2020 It maybe worth following my crash advice in my signature. Basically a cleanup and repair and rename your dcs folder in your saved games location. ( keep it as a backup ) Restart DCS login and redo settings and test. You can move you inputs and missions from the backup later to save time. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? BitMaster Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 Intel RST is not the driver or firmware for your drives but a driver for the controller ( Southbridge chip ) to which your drives are connected to. With current Intel chipsets you do not need to install it as a mandatory thing as Windows is aware of the chip and has embedded drivers to work with that chip. Still, to function at full speed and have more control and features it is advised to install the proper driver for your Intel chipset which consists of 3 parts. Chipset driver, RST and Intel Management Engine. Once new chipsets become available it could well be that you need to have the RST driver on a USB thumbdrive as Windows might not be able to see any drive attached to it if it does not have that matching driver among it's drivers that it comes with. But again, this is nott he case with any Intel chipset of today and Win10 1909 edition. Maybe in the future we will have to have a USB drive ready again, as in older days. This is just FYI for the future... If you do not encounter freezes other than in DCS you can disregard that source of error. discwalker Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 To report a memory leak ( ) you need MS systinternals processexplorer utility as written here at the end section https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/710/ because DCS not crashed the crash reporter not create a minidump GTX 1070 8GB, 16GB DDR3, W8.1 on SSD, DCS on another SSD
