unlikely_spider
In the Jagdflieger Campaign, mission 2, my engine always quits just after takeoff. I notice that there is a drop tank in this mission - does that have something to do with it? I let my engine warm up first before takeoff. Not sure if I should post there, or if there's something I'm doing wrong with the plane itself. Edit - I had the prop governor switched to Off. Solved. Mars Exulte
If I remember correctly, on cold start it is off because you set prop pitch manually to 12:30. After wingborne you enable it again. On landing you are supposed to return to manual, set pitch again, and land. I believe this is to increase aerodynamic drag via fine pitch and to avoid the governor constantly altering the blade pitch and screwing up your power curve during a critical phase. You can do it with it enabled of course but there are drawbacks.
