Very simply, if you've pressed <Esc> and then clicked [Choose Slot] allow returning to the cockpit to resume flight, instead of kicking one out of the slot immediately upon clicking Choose Slot.

I can't say how often this has happened to me, especially while setting up and testing control binds. Click the wrong text because you're in a hurry or sloppy or whatever, and BOOM your aircraft is GONE baby.

Simply don't throw one out of the current aircraft UNTIL a new slot has been entered, that way you can <Esc> out of the Choose Slot menu and click Resume to return to your aircraft

When you hit the wrong button on take-off
