P-G Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 I used this board in mine. https://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=180 Admittedly I'm not using back lit switches as I fly in vr.
Xpendable Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 I've been designing a new UFC from scratch as part of the OpenHarrier project. I'm attempting to make it more accurate and am doing a pretty decent job of replicating the Harrier's UFC displays by using inexpensive OLED displays. (You can get 5 of these for between $10-$15 for all 5 off of Amazon). I written custom Arudino code that replicates the dot patterns of the VFD displays. Each "dot" is actually made from 5 pixels on the displays. I intend to use a thin piece of green tinting over the displays change it from the white color to a green color. 3

I'm yet to send them for manufacturing as I have a few things still left to tidy up but I'm getting pretty close. I've designed these to fit within the UFC housing that I've made available right at the top of this thread and will expect the PCBs alone to cost around £20-£30 in case anyone is thinking of buying any (low volume manufacturing means I'll have a fair few spare ). I'll also be producing a LED-less version that uses purely 6x6mm tactile switches to save on the complexity of soldering and overall cost. Note that both version won't have space/be designed for any segmented displays (I primarily fly in VR). Edit: In case anyone is wondering, these are designed to be plugged directly into a Leo Bodnar USB interface board (or equivalent breakout board) and will share a common ground connection What is the value / part # / Source for the resistors you're using?
