Harlikwin Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 So per chucks guide. If you lock STT lock a tgt it will guide the SD10 until it goes pitbul, so all good there. If you just select it as a HPT target in TWS what actually happens? According to Chucks guide it should go pitbull immediately since its maddog? I'm not sure that's happening? Or should be happening at any rate based on my understanding of how TWS works in other planes. I think it "should" be providing guidance to the missile so its not "active" off the rail pretty much like STT but with a crappier guidance since the update rate of TWS is worse. (this is how it seems to be working at any rate) New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. AeriaGloria Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 (edited) If you look at the pricture of the TWS target he is firing at is less then four miles away, so no matter the radar mode it should be active off the rail. The TWS has it designated as HPT just as example to show they are within ASE You can see the TOA counter work when it’s beyond pitbull range Edited January 20, 2020 by AeriaGloria Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com

But it seems to work as a regular TWS missile like the aamraam. Maybe he can update/fix that IF its incorrect. New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. AeriaGloria Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 We’re both talking about pg 297 right? Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com
Harlikwin Posted January 20, 2020 Author Posted January 20, 2020 We’re both talking about pg 297 right? That area of the manual yes. Mad dog is on 297 and STT before that. It just seems like a HPT/TWS launch isn't really mentioned, though it seems to work in game. New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. GrEaSeLiTeNiN Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 An SD10 fired at an HPT in TWS can't be a maddog. The missiles are meant to fly to the HPT and SPT and pitbull when their TOA = 0. A maddog would just defeat the whole purpose of having an HPT/SPT, wouldn't it? In anycase, it works as above in the sim.
