oldpop Posted February 10, 2020 Posted February 10, 2020 I found the "ARC_210_UHF1/2" lua files. They have listings of what I guess are the "preset freq" for each ch. Both COM1 and 2 have the same freq for each ch. In the A/C com1/ch1 is a freq "124.0", but in the lua file it is "305.0" Why #1 are they not the same, and #2 how can we change the pre set freq in Com1 &2?:smilewink:
Harker Posted February 10, 2020 Posted February 10, 2020 Com1/Ch1 changes dynamically in the Mission Editor, according to the frequency you set for your flight. Apart from that, I have 305 MHz as default for Ch1 in the sim, for both com1 and com2. Are you saying that if you place a new Hornet in the ME and set it to Player, com1/ch1 is 124 MHz? Bunny Clark Posted February 10, 2020 Posted February 10, 2020 In the Mission Editor, when you select an F/A-18C Lot 20, there will be a tab in the lower right (same place you customize armament) that will let you specify the radio presets for that flight. oldpop Posted February 10, 2020 Author Posted February 10, 2020 I now see the "flight pre set". It sets up Com1. It is not likely that (in RW) that Com1 and Com 2 freq would be the same. I was attempting to change com 2's freq, and system will not allow it???

You should be able to change the frequencies for your player-controlled aircraft in the Radio tab in the ME, assuming they're in the correct frequency range. If a frequency shows up red, it means it's outside of the radio's operating range. As for the default presets, they're just set like that in DCS, because each preset corresponds to an ATC frequency in the Caucasus map. You can change them to whatever you want, in the Mission Editor. The vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join the vCVW-17 Discord. oldpop Posted February 10, 2020 Author Posted February 10, 2020 would be nice to change them in the config file, then they could be shared with others!
Yoda967 Posted February 11, 2020 Posted February 11, 2020 They can be shared with others, via any mission you share or put up on a multiplayer server. oldpop Posted February 11, 2020 Author Posted February 11, 2020 Yoda, do you mean If I change all the FREQ in Com 2 then all in a MP session will receive that change??
Harker Posted February 11, 2020 Posted February 11, 2020 Yoda, do you mean If I change all the FREQ in Com 2 then all in a MP session will receive that change?? No, you can only affect your own aircraft. But you can share the comms across all members of the flight, in a pdf, a txt, in the mission briefing screen etc. If you're making your own mission, I think you can change the frequencies of aircraft set to Client, in the Mission Editor. Bunny Clark Posted February 11, 2020 Posted February 11, 2020 would be nice to change them in the config file, then they could be shared with others! I'm not sure about this, but I'm pretty sure that the config file only sets the default frequencies that show up in the mission editor. Whatever is then set in the mission editor is what you'll see in the jet. The mission-specific frequencies set in the mission editor will always supersede the config default values.
