SmoglessPanic Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 Hello Guys, I was looking for a button on my joystick to map RDR Cursor Switch - UP when I realized I mapped the Enable switch depress when the Viper first came out, I can't fire out what it does or what it's for. It seems like it uncages the Aim 9 seeker head but I am not sure.
Minsky Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 (edited) It was added with the yesterday's OB update: Added AIM-9 SLAVE and BORE SMS selection from the Cursor Switch depress function Explanatory video: Edited February 15, 2020 by Minsky Dima | My DCS uploads
stubboyo Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 Cursor Enable is activated by pressing down/in on the cursor control on the throttle in the real Viper. It remains WIP for DCS. It should switch between BORE and SLAVE modes for the AIM-9 when held while in Air-to-Air mode. It should also toggle sub modes for the AGM-65 when implemented. While it’s nice to have, having full cursor control is more important in my estimation.

It seemed like it was going into slave mode but the diamond would not stay locked on the target when I pressed Enable Switch. I just wanted to know what it was for, I will not map it for now and replace it with cursor control for now and cross that bridge when the Mavs are out. Funny thing is I didn't realize I had it mapped at all must've done it day 1 of Viper release. I appreciate the explanation!!

Cursor/enable does not lock the sidewinder seeker to a target, only enables boresight. Cage/uncage would lock it to a target once it has a target, or just fire once it has tone as Wags demos in his video.
