Could the Rendering on the 2D and VR Be Causing FPS Issues?

It seems to me that making the game render on both the VR headset and the monitor would tax your computer even more than it would by just putting the image on the VR headset alone.

 

2 questions...

 

Does this make a difference?

 

Is there a way to make the game only render on the headset?

Yeah, its been asked before, there is a tiny effect if you drop the resolution in the game settings to the minimum. But generally speaking no.

New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1)

Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really).
