heavyg Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Hey Guys, Does anyone know if BS or the planned 1.13 patch for LOMACFC will have a feature that allows us to configure the throttle range to our hotas setup? It would be nice to click on the ranges for idle, full military, and quite possibly the stages of reheat? I guess with BS, since we arent going to be flying airwolf, reheat is not an option. TIA HG
Yellonet Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Well, the throttle for a chopper doesn't quite work the same as in a fixed wing aircraft, so I'm not sure that would be a usefull feature in BS. And I doubt you'll see any additions in the 1.13 patch. It is a patch after all, not an addon. i7-2600k@4GHz, 8GB, R9 280X 3GB, SSD, HOTAS WH, Pro Flight Combat Pedals, TIR5
AlphaOneSix Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 I've never seen a helicopter simulator that included a throttle control. They all just have collective, and the throttle is controlled "automatically". Which is fine, because that's generally how it's done in real life. In other words, most helicopters nowadays have automatic throttles, and your only throttle control is OFF, IDLE, FLY, and then usually some fourth option that allows for manual throttle control in an emergency. Trust me, you don't want to have to do manual throttle control.
nemises Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 From the startup vid, you see Wags clicking the Throtle's 3 times to get to automatic power. Presumably the other settings are Idle, warmup and full ?
AlphaOneSix Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 (He only clicks them twice, but that's just being nit-picky, I see what you mean, though) Those look like the Engine Condition Levers. Obviously, I'm not familiar with them on the Ka-50, but that being said, they could be doing what you describe. You place them into "automatic" and then the fuel system on each engine does all the work of figuring out its own throttle settings for best performance. Now I'm curious about those ECLs, though ;)
