Rave Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Been having some PC issues lately but finally got it all worked out only to realize that I have run out of activations and now have to wait 1 month? WTF:mad::mad: I understand why we have the activations / deactivations but there should be a way for me to remove any / all activations from all the modules that I have "PURCHASED" yea I quoted and made it all caps on purpose. I had no idea that I would not be able to deactivate after I had reinstalled my OS. I should have the option to deactivate any / all of them online through my account. Any help would be much appreciated.
rrohde Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 From the FAQ here:https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/564/#1823177 "How can I deactivate the products (modules) in order not to lose the available activations? You can deactivate the module directly from the Module Manager in DCS World, by clicking on the DRM button. The number of deactivations is limited to ten attempts." The same you can find in the guide: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/documentation/dcs_world_activation_guide_en/ PC: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X | MSI Suprim GeForce 3090 TI | ASUS Prime X570-P | 128GB DDR4 3600 RAM | 2TB Samsung 870 EVO SSD | Win10 Pro 64bit Gear: HP Reverb G2 | JetPad FSE | VKB Gunfighter Pro Mk.III w/ MCG Ultimate VKBcontrollers.com

This is the same PC i have had since 2017 since then i have had to do a clean reinstall of windows a handful of times and just recently installed a new SSD and i am using my old HD as storage. My old HD has been re formated also.
Rave Posted March 6, 2020 Author Posted March 6, 2020 Itunes has this simple option when you log into your account to "de-authorize" all computers so you dont have to deal with bs like this.
Crypta Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 i am in the same boat with you... swapped all kinda parts did 3 fresh instals (long story) anyway it took an activation away each time i think have 2 left. so after one month you can reactivate or what? refering to fc3. dont know about my hornet.... im worried that if i run out ill have to buy fc3 again
Art-J Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 I thought all modules are keyless now and don't need activation/deactivation gymnastics anymore - at least in latest Open Beta version? Stable 2.5.5. might still use Starforce for a handful of modules, though. I gather both of you use 2.5.5? In either case, try to use these registry fixes to purge any registry data of your modules and then try to activate them again. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/564/#1780273 By the way, there never was nor will be the need to buy anything again. After each single month player gets one activation back for free. Before that happens though, we all will most likely be on 2.5.6 anyway. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
Rave Posted March 7, 2020 Author Posted March 7, 2020 (edited) I thought all modules are keyless now and don't need activation/deactivation gymnastics anymore - at least in latest Open Beta version? Stable 2.5.5. Yea that was not Open BETA, When I run Open BETA I don't get asked to input my activation. I guess Open BETA is not really "BETA" but the "Stable but not really Stable" version.. lol:megalol: Edited March 7, 2020 by Rave
