Pmedic548 Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 So I understand that my target steerpoint will slew in conjunction with the targeting pod. And TMS down "resets" the view on the TGP forward. How do I "reset" the pod to the selected steerpoint? Such as SP5 is my target location and I can slew around after initial selection of that steerpoint but when I get "lost" tracking the area looking for targets, I try to fly out then do a 180 back and start over searching for targets, but then the HSD isn't showing the initial SP5 location but has been slaved to the pod. How do I get the pod back on my original SP? Thanks
Harker Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 Right now, if you're in AG mode, the steerpoint location is slaved to the TGP, since offsetting isn't implemented yet. Slewing it in AG mode will slew your steerpoint with it. Avoid resetting the TGP with TMS Aft and and if you want to switch steerpoints, exit AG before you do it and re-enter after. Deano87 Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 Short answer: You Can't, At least not right now. The TPOD and Steepoint implementation right now is WIP and was temporary to get a working TPOD as soon as possible after release. The steerpoint location is irrevocably changed once you start moving it with the TPOD. I use another steerpoint as a sacrifical steerpoint which I'll steer around using the HSD onto other steerpoints If I desperately need to keep track of a location. Once they get the proper SPI system implemented then you'll be able to reset your steerpoints back to their original location as you would in the real jet. Also Switching steerpoints while in CCRP mode will move whatever steerpoint your switching to to be where your pod is currently looking, not the other way around. So I suggest swapping to CCIP mode before changing steerpoints and then going back to CCRP.
