Marsvinet Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 In certain cases, when a target is locked up on the TPOD by switching from HTS mode to TDC(underlined) and then selecting a weapon through either the ACP or the left MFCD, the right MFCD is locked to the DMT screen. You cannot exit the screen through any means outside of deselecting the weapon or undesignating the target. I have not been able to reproduce it in single player hot starts so far. I have a multiplayer track that sadly is 124MB. I'll keep trying to reproduce it, but if the 124MB one is acceptable, i'll upload it somewhere.
=DECOY= Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 PM me a link to your track file and I will have a look Water cooled i9-9900K | Maximus Code XI MB | RTX3090 | 64GB | HP Reverb G2
SmolPener Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 Selecting GBUs or JDAMS locks DMT on right DDI. I have found that if you use CCIP mode for the GBUs, JDAMs and maybe others, it locks the DMT on the right DMT when you box the bomb type on the stores page. The other annoying thing is when you have a target designated with TPOD and you select the weapon you want to use, it changes right DDI to DMT and you have to hit menu and tpod again to get it back up.
RAZBAM_ELMO Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 trk files of the issue please. Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass. — Dave 'Preacher' Pace, USN.
Marsvinet Posted October 16, 2020 Author Posted October 16, 2020 I think this issue is related to what Kappa has reported, but I will have a look again, because he describes a similar but not equal way to create a very similar problem. No promises, since I haven't been able to do it before.

Happened to me with Mk.82 in CCIP. If I switched to MAV, I could get out of the DMT and back to the TPOD. It seems that switching from TV to INS fixed the issue but it did not work reliably. Attached a TRK using GBU12 in CCIP and can reproduce the issue. In THIS case, switching from TV to INS fixed it and I could get back to TPOD. I forgot to setup TRACKIR so I hope you can see what is going on. With CCIP selected, right DDI switches from TPOD to DMT TV and mashing the MENU button does nothing. Switched to DMT INS and I could get it working again. I was in ACTIVE PAUSE, but it occurs in regular flight as well.Recluse_AV8B_CCIP.trk
Recluse Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 You know... I think this is AS DESIGNED. THE DMT will automatically TRACK the position of the CCIP pipper, so it would make SENSE that it gets locked to TV mode for CCIP delivery settings AND that you can get out of it when switching from TV to INS... I guess in order to use TPOD, you need to use the TPOD FIRST to select a target, THEN select CCIP in order to use the TPOD designation as an aim point. THE DMT will still track the pipper... I THINK...
RAZBAM_ELMO Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 So is this happening only when using GBUs in CCip mode? Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass. — Dave 'Preacher' Pace, USN.
Recluse Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 (edited) So is this happening only when using GBUs in CCip mode? In my experience it happens when ANY weapon is set to CCIP mode. I just happened to have GBU onboard and they were the only weapon I could set to CCIP when making that TRK. I didn't try it with GUNS, though.. The problem doesn't occur if GBU/Dumb bombs/JDAM are set to a mode other than CCIP As an aside, the reason I discovered this was trying to replicate the use of the TPOD for targeting as shown in this 2018 Spudknocker video, so it USED to work this way. OK so you should not be using PGMs in CCIP at all, im gonna give this a shot with dumb munitions ad see if I can replicate it. Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. RAZBAM_ELMO Posted October 18, 2020 Posted October 18, 2020 After review. As intended behaviour to assist pilot in acquiring target for release. Was left over logic from the days where the TPOD was non existent. Solution? Dont drop GBUs in CCIP and dont use the TPOD and DMT at the same time. Moving to resolved -AS INTENDED Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass. — Dave 'Preacher' Pace, USN.
