A while ago HB made it so that opening the speedbrake doesn't cause any automatic adjustment of the elevons. This was a temporary workaround till they figured out how to simulate the speedbrake more accurately I believe.

What is the status on this?

I kinda like to follow the start-up checklist and, and it calls for "open speedbrake and check elevators are moving". Lookign fwd to having this re-implemented.

I would love to see that back too. I am however afraid that this is not a trivial problem and there are far more important things on HBs plate right now.

I think the issue was getting the correct amount of trim compensation with (at the time) a frequently changing flight model. The simple solution was to remove the pitch moment of the speed brake while the FM got finalized and that removed the need for a trim change. Thus, you got the expected flight behavior (no pitch when brake is deployed) even though the visuals wouldn't match.

Anyway, I'm sure it's on the to-do list.
