Brakes cause game freeze (2.5.5)?

Just a quick question that hopefully isn't pertinent to anyone else anymore.

 

I have a bug in 2.5.5. Very often when I land and taxi, hitting the brakes will cause the game to freeze up and I must force quit.

 

Did anyone have that bug before and was it fixed in 2.5.6? Was it related to the AFK bug?

 

I haven't wanted to update until the mess that was 2.5.6 is cleaned up a bit.

I am still flying 2.5.5, since this is the last version which works with my Oculus Rift CV1.

They changed the code massively in 2.5.6., and I will not follow them anymore using this certain computer.

 

I had freezes when flying with the Viggen in Persian Gulf, always in situations when I used the VR zoom. No escape from this situation was possible, but after a certain period of time DCS crashed and I got the crash message behind.

Since the configuration used 23.6 GB of my 24 GB of RAM, I strongly assume that this has to do with memory management, but to be honest I cannot be sure about.

 

Can you give more infos on this issue? Which map, which mission, after which period of mission time? Maybe I will try your setup then ...

I think I have only flown the Viggen on the Caucasus map. Most recently I was testing to see what might be causing the the game freeze so I was doing the landing with AFK tutorial. Everything worked great until I landed and was taxiing. Using the brake axis worked to slow the plane on the runway, but after taxiing for a while, as soon as I used the brake axis again it caused the game to freeze.

 

I tried this with and without engaging AFK, without and without engaging thrust reverser. I unmapped the Autothrottle disconnect/IR missile fast select button to remove that from the equation. It happened repeatedly regardless of these changes.

 

The last log ended with messages like this.

I'm running 32gb ram but haven't noticed any other issues with the Viggen. I haven't read anyone else mention this issue, so I though it could be just my hardware, but thought I should wait it out until the 2.5.6. But that patch turned out to be less than ideal and I don't want to mess up my campaigns and carrier ops if I don't have to.

Good info on this issue, I think RagnarDa can work with you on that issue.

 

"nan" means "not a number", which kills the mathematical operation intended to be performed in this situation. I will have a look into my logs to look for this specific error, maybe this evening.
