Plon Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 Hello, I have installed the stable version by copying the open beta folder and updating (downgrading in fact...) it to the latest stable. Both version works, but I only have the DCS.openbeta in the saved game folder. Is there any way to create in the Saved game folder, a DCS folder and edit a config file to link the stable version to it ? Or force it to create one ? Thanks for your help and sorry for my bad english ! SVgamer72 Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 You can use a symlink in Windows (very common in Linux). https://www.techrepublic.com/article/how-to-take-advantage-of-symbolic-links-in-window-10/ https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/
Rudel_chw Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 Is there any way to create in the Saved game folder, a DCS folder and edit a config file to link the stable version to it ? Or force it to create one ? On stable DCS: Create a "dcs_variant.txt" file in the root directory of the installed simulator, this file is processed by both executable DCS.exe and dcs_updater.exe. The file should contain only the name of the future recording directory, which is then preceded by DCS through a period, for example: test The recording directory will be as follows: c: \ Users \% USERNAME% \ Saved Games \ DCS.test (spaces in the dcs_variant.txt file are ignored, so the name of the form 'test 15' will be converted to the recording directory c: \ Users \% USERNAME% \ Saved Games \ DCS.test15) Once DCS has created the new folder, exit DCS and copy the contents of /saved games/dcs.openbeta/ onto the new folder (careful: copy, not move) so that it will have the same configurations as the OpenBeta.
