If you’re unfamiliar with command prompt and don’t want to delete and reninstall the easiest is to download Skatezillas updater and that makes it easy to switch. I think you can rename some files to make it work but you would have to look it up

Still requires open beta?

I was looking forward to trying this with the free trial coming up but I don't really want to switch to open beta as I've heard it's buggy and tanks your fps in it's current state. Does the Skatezilla mod mentioned allow for easy switching from open to stable?

You can have both on the same system. I run both stable and open beta, and use Skatezilla's DCS Updater / Launcher GUI Utility, and love it! All of your modules and maps that you have in stable will load to Open Beta, so you don't have to worry about not having them available.

Hardware: MSI MPG Z790 EDGE WiFi MB, i9-13900K @ 4.3GHz, 64GB DDR5, NVidia RTX 4090 24GB DDR6X, 2TB M.2 970 EVO Plus, 1TB SSD 850 EVO, Windows 11 Pro, HP Reverb G2, Tobii Head Tracker, TM Warthog HOTAS, TM F/A-18C Grip, TM Viper TQS Mission Pack, CH Pro Pedals.

Modules: A-10A, A-10C, F/A-18C, P-51D-50, Fw 190 A-8, Fw 190 D-9, Bf 109 K-4, Spitfire IX, Mosquito FB VI, AJS-37 Viggen, M-2000C, F-86F, F-15C, F-15E, F-5E, F-14A/B, L-39C, MiG-21bis, MiG-19P, MiG-29, SU-27, SU-33, AV-8B, Mi-8MTV2, Mi-24P Hind, AH-64D, Ka-50, UH-1H, SA342, A-4E-C, NTTR, PG, CA, Normandy, Channel, Syria, Marianas, South Atlantic, WWII Assets Pack

How do you go about that? I have stable installed now, do I just d/l the Skatezilla utility and install the open beta from there?

The usage of the tool is a bit complicated. Here is how I did the update:

1. Download & run the Skatezilla Utility

2. On Application Settings: Set Slot #1 with Folder Path of DCS and Saved Games ("user"-folder of Windows) -- you need two green squares

3. Home: select slot #1

4. Advanced Update Options: Update to latest beta

Good tool!

You’re on stable. You have to update to open beta

Why ? isn't this module supposed to be playable with the stable version ?

I'll buy :

МиГ-23МЛД & МЛА МиГ-27К МиГ-25 Mirage III F-4E any IJ plane 1950' Korea Dynamic campaign module

Not according to the description on the product page:"CAN BE INSTALLED IN OPEN BETA ONLY!" It doesn't say anything about this on the Steam page however. I'll have to check.

I switched from Steam a few months ago and have always run stable, so this is new to me. I don't even know how to install open beta on standalone. It was easy in Steam to install and de-install just by going into the game properties in your game list. I'm leary of putting both on and having it screw up standalone.

Edit: Doesn't work, you need open beta.
