smire666 Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 I have a Logitech Extreme 3D pro. Might be time to invest in a new controller. It will let you get more out of DCS. if you don't want to spend to much $$$$$$ on a Warthog HOTAS & rudder pedals. May I suggest the Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS. It has good amount of buttons :D +1, have it, too. Works enough good.
randomTOTEN Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 You got me curious. And you got me curious. So I fired up DCS, selected a random axis, and started moving the throttle. Sure enough, after a couple seconds the assignment window populated with the correct control! Perhaps I was impatient in previous attempts, and thought it was not possible. But I can confirm that on my end it does work! Might be time to invest in a new controller. If you want... I guess so... I've got all relevant HOTAS controls bound for all the modules I own (including A-10C, KA-50, F/A-18C, F-16C etc..) on my humble Extreme 3D Pro. Multiple modifiers are nice.... It's small, lightweight, and I don't worry about the cost if it ever breaks. AAR, formation flight, Helos... it'll handle it.
=Pedro= Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 It was on sale, so why not. Went to youtube and found a few videos where they review it and recommend it. So why not? Go in to training... only 2 missions. I can start the plane, I can taxi and take off. Now what?? Where do I learn how to do anything else... where do I learn how to land... dog fight.... ground attack... etc? Where do I learn how to use and set up the MFD's? And then to top it off... my controller throttle will not work with the simulation. Have to use NUM PAD + and - to throttle up or down... WTF? It fly's pretty! But that is all I can seem to be able to do now... Wakeshift Posted March 29, 2020 Posted March 29, 2020 Adding an additional bit of detail to the explanation of binding an axis: After choosing the category "Axis Commands" and identifying the Thrust/Throttle line and the column for your input device, and double-clicking on that to open the window to choose your binding, I find I always have to move my throttle/rotary/slider/whatever all the way to the end of its range (sometimes both ends) before DCS detects and applies it.
