  1. I mean, you are making it sound like this isnt done in real life. Thanks for the response. Yes i saw the infantry models being worked on, another thing that sparked the idea for me. Im glad its something you'd also like. Let us hope for the future!

  3. And no one will complain about that. Having dedicated pilots in DCS is good, just as having dedicated FPS/Ships/Tanks players will be great too.
  4. Hey all and Devs. So my TOP desire for DCS would be a First person module/standard feature. (I love jets but a full theatre of war would be awesome) Before some people come here and say that its a flight sim and not another Call of Duty, let me explain why. 1. First person module is not 'difficult' to make in comparison to an entire flight physics model for a heli or jet. I have no idea what would be technically involved in getting the DCS world engine to work with first person, human physics and animation but for now I would assume that it is possible at least. 2. First person (shooter) is more popular than an extremely detailed flight sim. Its easy to get into without needing to study an entire manual. This alone would generate much more revenue for ED (very quickly) and allow them to make even more jets/maps/modules and expand the company. Heck, you could charge $10 (Super cheap) for a first person module and you'd see player numbers rise incredibly. That alone would get more people interested in the other jets and things. 3. Imagine how cool it would be to play on the ground, knowing about the crazy jets and helis above. Coolness factor would be unbelievable. 4. The big thing about first person is animation and modelling of weapons (Yes I know there is more to it but these are the major things). Now, I'd say that both the models and animations can be bought from other studios and touched up to DCS standard. The amount of time and money spent on developing in-house assets for this wouldnt be worth it in comparion to just buying it. There are hundreds of games and studios who have made these assets, no need to reinvent every wheel. So time investment wouldn't be a major concern and monetary investment could be recovered very quickly. 5. Combined arms already exists.... So, let me hit E on that tank and hop in. 6. It's called Digital combat simulator. Not Digital Flight Simulator. Its mean to simulate ALL combat, so why not add the easiest form of combat? I'm sure I can sit and think of more reasons but Im sure you get what Im saying. If a dev could give a comment on this, that would be great! Also, understand that Im not saying "DO IT NOW! GIMMIE FPS!!!" Things dont happen instantly... so please ED, do consider this idea. Let me know what you all think?
  5. Performance is absolutely sad at the moment, really wish the 2.5.6 lighting update never happened. Literally gained 1% better graphics and 100% worse performance.
  6. Just tested the new update, on worst settings possible. Played on a MP server with 16 online and got 30 fps just sitting on the ground before engine startup...
  7. Yup. But at the end of the day, I used to be able to play at medium to high settings even with game mode on before 2.5.6. So something is definitely wrong.
  8. Most SP missions are unplayable, all MP all unplayable. Main menu doesn't matter and in a single aircraft mission editor mission is 45fps but its drops if I'm low over the ground.
  9. I would but it makes the cockpit screens in the F18 and 16 basically unreadable without zooming in.
  10. Thanks for the advice but yes I've already gone through so many lists and videos and threads. I have even reinstalled my windows during this time and done all the optimisation again but with no benefits. Will just have to hope it gets fixed as it was 2.5.6 that made it unplayable at the end of the day.

  13. Still no word on VR performance Hi all. I have really been missing DCS and really want to play it but it's rather pointless when the performance on VR is so bad that I can't see the enemy beyond my flickering, shuddering and shaking propeller... It's been months of this now and the only thing I've read about performance is for "high end settings" where FPS should be increased... I literally have to play VR at the lowest possible settings and is unplayable. This is with it 8600k 4.7ghz and gtx1080.. Can we pleaaaase have a word from the devs?
  14. The A8 got 'released' without a pilot body.. so who knows.

  17. I have JUST fixed this issue, the nose just constantly pulled up with full nose down trim. I turned off the force-feed back in DCS and just for good measure, reset my joystick to defaults in control panel and re-calibrated it. I hope this helps you.
  18. There is definitely something that is affecting my controls but it doesn't show in the controls settings for the plane. I made a post in the bugs reports section and someone used 2 of my track files and as soon as he took control, the issue went away. I will just have to see what the heck is happening.

  21. I did apply the pitch down trim Im pretty sure, but what you say about experiencing less pitchup on your own PC does indicate something is interfering here... I'll see what I can find. Thanks
  22. Thanks for taking the time to understand and also bring useful information. Bignewy: "We are happy with the dora" NineLine: "The dora will need to be redone eventually." Who is "We"? Nonetheless, I dont know much about the viability of a cockpit rework but I'd give a guess and say that 80% of the work is already done with the A8 cockpit, I cannot imagine that a few new dials and texture change will bankrupt ED. But you know, that's just my opinion.

  24. I'm not sure if there was a time period in which you had to already have bought the Hornet in order the recieve the discount, perhaps since you only bought it now on the 23rd, you didn't qualify for the discount coupon
