Persian Gulf map Crashes to Desktop

when i try to load the persian gulf map in mission editor, it crashes back to desktop. this only happens with the PG map. i've updated to newest version of DCS and have run a repair multiple times. it's my favorite map and literally the worst time for this to happen to me. :helpsmilie:

I am unable to reproduce the crash on my machine, can I ask you to try a cleanup and then a repair. Guide in my signature.

 

It maybe worth checking your antivirus also is not creating problems, we have had some false positives recently

will the cleanup function back up all non official files? i have tons of skins i'd like to preserve

All user liveries should be in your saved games location and not in your dcs root.

 

Yes a cleanup will remove all unofficial files unless they are in the saved games dcs location.

hi there. so i did the cleanup and repair as suggested, and the Persian Gulf map started to work! ...for a little while. now it's crashing yet again. i did the cleanup and repair some more (twice actually), but it's now continuing to crash :(

Try renaming your dcs folder in saved games ( keep it as a backup )

 

C:\Users\Daniel Lucas\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta

 

to

 

C:\Users\Daniel Lucas\Saved Games\DCS.openbetabackup

 

then run a cleanup and repair ( or verify for steam )

 

restart DCS login and redo options and test.

 

This is to rule out a setting or config problem.

Hey there, I did what you suggested. Renamed the saved games directory, ran repair and cleanup, and started DCS again. it was strange, as I had to re-start DCS several times to get the main menu to show up, but eventually it did.

 

however as soon as i tried to load the Persian Gulf map in the mission editor, it once again crashed...what. the. hell. :cry:

Please ensure your windows and all display drivers are up to date.

remove any unofficial mods ( if any )

run a cleanup and repair.

check your antivirus is not creating a problem for DCS.
