I’m flying mission 11 on the Red Flag campaign

I can not select the Magic clicking on the PCA buttons. Only with the HOTAS. Is this a bug?

I can’t get out of the close combat mode to long range scan by just increasing the range. I’m stuck in close combat mode. Is there another way to return to long range? Is this another bug?

My HUD is showing close combat mode but the HDD is showing ranges like 40 or 80

That’s not normal to me.

These all seem like bugs

 

I can’t click on the RP to jettison the fuel tank. Again it seems like the whole panel is bugged. The key commands for the stores don’t work either ie LCtrl+2 for the RP

You return to previous weapon with CNM Neutral wich should also be mapped to your HOTAS.

 

You exit radar close combat mode with Weapon SystemCMD depress, same button as to unlock radar target.

 

The bug is to be able to select radar range in radar close combat mode, it should be 10Nm only.

I'm relearning the M2000 so I needed to change some joy assignements. There has been some changes that you can read in the manual (it's almost 100% updated, I think it lacks the last -very recent- update). Relevant updates:

This is an old post, I believe I made all these changes to HOTAS assignments. I’ll have to check. I’ve been running the Red Flag campaign more recently than that without problems.

Usually would be 3rd weapon selector button, so LControl+3 (otherwise, clickin it with the mouse). It works just fine on my pc.

I haven’t been able to figure out a sequence, it’s very confusing. Sometimes I can select and sometimes I can’t.

 

The difference with a Mission 11 is I don’t have 530s. Normally I would start by selecting those via the button on the PCA. Then everything functions normally. HOTAS buttons and PCA. In this mission 11 I have the Magic selected and doing that seems to prevent the RP from being selected.

Canon = AA gun

Neutral = PCA selection

Magic = self explanatory

 

Canon and Magic are override selection. After selecting one these weapon you need to unselect it with command “CNM Neutral PCA Select”.

 

IRL this is a 3 position paddle on the front of the throttle:

- inward = canon

- middle = select on PCA

- outboard = select Magic

 

So if you have Magic or AA gun selected, it’s normal you can select fuel tank on PCA. You need to “reset” your weapon selection with CNM Neutral :smilewink:
