I just bought combined arms, that way I can control the supercarrier and wait for ED to come up with something else, or not. HOw sure are we that the SC will be controllable?

You can also switch your HSI to True Heading instead of Magnetic Heading.

It's simple :

  • HSI Page
  • DATA osb (up-right)
  • A/C osb (up-left)
  • HDG MAG osb (right-middle) when pressed will become HDG TRUE

Rather off topic all in all, but since it's mentioned here:

And that would benefit me in exactly what way? Last time i checked, UFCP input of the CRS was still taken as Magnetic anyways... Not to mention IRL they work with Mag rather than True as well.

If you didn't have CA, I don't think we know for sure. As you have it then I think you'll be able to. Not straight away though.

I think CA integration refers to taking control of the SC like a vehicle. I'm sure setting a path for the carrier will be available just like any other ship. That's what I wanted, the possibility of changing course to account for real world procedures.

Entirely possible! We find out in 2 days :bounce:

Jeez, can't wait. I'm a navy fan so the Hornet and the SC are my favorite by far!!

My F/A-18 campaign (in the PG) will include this feature too on top of many others. This feature is already done: the carrier will turn into the wind for the duration of the launch/recovery operations and if it's not possible to do so on its planned route it'll position itself accordingly to be able to stay on the desired course when the time arrives. It checks not only for land, but also other objects such as oil and gas fields at sea and plans the recovery track accordingly.
