LeonRedbone Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 I've asked this a while back but figured it's that time again :) Has anyone found a solution to the motion smoothing induced ghosting issue? Quick recap: I have a pretty beefy system (9900K, 2080ti, 32GB etc etc...), and without motion smoothing I can maintain a decent framerate (around 60ish or so) at all times with my settings in VR. Obviously with no smoothing this introduces a very stutter filled experience in VR. That being said, with MS turned on, I get s solid 45 at all times, and it's a perfect experience EXCEPT objects like other planes ghosting badly with any lateral motion.... Anyone have a solution? It's unplayable in ACM as you cannot reliably identify planes, and i't obviously severely immersion breaking. Basically DCS is a nice simulator to go do some sightseeing at the moment or to impress people new to VR. Combat? not so much unless it's all BVR
GunSlingerAUS Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 Sadly there is no fix mate, I had the exact same issues as you but with the Reverb. While many DCS pilots are happy with the ghosting and ground stutter, I most definitely wasn't. Don't waste days chasing a fix for this like I did, as there simply isn't one; you'll probably get people saying that it's fine with motion smoothing, but they're the ones who don't really notice ghosting. Until we've got the horsepower to run VR, or the DCS engine is better optimised for it (both being at least 12 to 24 months away), I've instead purchased a 55-inch C9 OLED display, as it gives me a huge screen but with 4K resolution at 60fps. Voodooflies Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Same issue here, I really hope VR will continue to get some love in terms in both rendering and performance. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
