Andy t Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 After 2.5.6, when starting DCS, on a frequent basis, there will be NO SOUND. My windows output is set to default device, and the DCS settings is set to output sound to the default device. Sometimes I can fix this by exiting and restarting DCS, other times, it doesn't get fixed, so I have to reboot my machine. Tonight, even rebooting doesn't seem to fix it. Any plans to look into it? It appears I am not the only one with this issue.
BlackSharkAce Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 +1, happens during multiplayer as well. All of a sudden there is no more in-game sounds. Other windows sounds still work.

ED Team c0ff Posted April 14, 2020 ED Team Posted April 14, 2020 I already added a workaround to the next openbeta. Meanwhile, you can tell the engine to force stereo output. Edit or create the file Saved Games/DCS.openbeta/Config/autoexec.cfg, adding this line: sound.channel_mask = 3 Dmitry S. Andy t Posted April 14, 2020 Author Posted April 14, 2020 I am attaching the screenshot of my sound control panel. I am curious, what does the command below do? sound.channel_mask = 3

Andy t Posted April 14, 2020 Author Posted April 14, 2020 I am using steam version (open beta) and have two folders in my saved games: DCS and DCS.openbeta. DCS.openbeta only has 'Mods' and 'Scripts' folders, while all the actual folders are in DCS. None of the folders have autoexec.cfg. Does it matter where I create this file? For now, I plan on putting it in DCS/Config/autoexec.cfg.
