Bright flickering

I don't know if this is specific to my config (see signature), but lately with the latest beta, I get bright flickering happening more and more frequently, usually after 20 to 30 minutes of play and when starting a new mission. I experienced it very rarely in the past but now, I'm almost sure to get it each time I play DCS.

The screen flickers between normal colors and very bright ones and very rarely it sometimes get stuck with very bright colors.

To fix it, sometimes it's enough to stop the mission and press "fly again", sometimes I have to go back to "mission editor" and restart and sometimes I have to completely restart DCS.

can you let us know your dcs settings and attach a track replay showing it happen, I can test with the same then.

 

If you have a video of what is happening that may help also

Here is a screenshot of my DCS settings

 

I saved a track file but the flickering is not part of the track file itself. It's more of a state of DCS itself. If I open the track file while DCS entered this flickering state, then it will flicker, else it won't flicker.

I could reproduce this issue with a simple mission with a plane taking off from any airport. Open the mission, fly the mission, quit, fly again, quit, mission editor, change plane, fly again, and so on, and after a while I get the flickering...

Very strange,

 

do a cleanup and repair, and delete your metashader2 and fxo folders in your saved games dcs folder.

 

are you sure your gpu driver is installed ok?

 

also check your cables are plugged in correctly.

 

is your card getting hot?

Checked all of that and deleted metashader2 and fxo folders, but flickering still gets back after about 8 mission starts from Mission Editor :(

 

I'll check whether this is happening only when starting from mission editor or also from other parts of DCS (instant action, campaign, etc...)

Can I ask you to attach a track replay from the sim showing this, make it as short as possible.

 

You can save a track replay after you exit the mission during the debrief screen.

 

I want to try and reproduce with the same on my machine.

Here's a very short track.

As I explained above in the thread, when replaying this track, it doesn't necessarily show the flickering. The other way round, any track plays with the flickering when DCS enters this "flickering mode".

I don't know if this is going to help much, but I noticed that when changing the time of my mission to morning, evening or night (instead of the default noon), then the flickering never happens in several hours of play or very rarely (only once yesterday).

If you are noticing a difference when change the time of day it has to be related to the sun light. I will mention it to the team
