saitek program or not

Hi I am determined to finally get to grips with DCS but my biggest bug bear has always been setting the controls.

I have an x55 hotas and wondered how many use the Saitek/madcatz/Logitech program to set your controls up for DCS or do you in the main use the in game settings for your controls?

I never use the software because I often change the plane or helicopter in the game. I guess with the software, you have to exit the game and change configuration on the software if you want to change to other module?

External software is only useful when you do advanced binding like axis to button and vice versa, multi-position switches, spring-loaded switches, rotaries, etc. not supported natively by module.
