-0303- Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 (edited) In this Spitfire MkIX manual I found a lot of things. http://zenoswarbirdvideos.com/Images/spit/SPIT9MANUAL.pdf -Coffman starter -Landing lights, there's landing lights?! -slow running cut out (37) -built in signal pistol in tail (see 38, 39) want want want -Red generator malfunction light (40) and more. Disregarding all other things I would love to have the signal pistol (built into the tail). I saw Bf109 use signal flares in Grim Reaper video to mark a an ground area (historical use?). Obviously they could also be used to signal each other. Landing lights, only in some early version and then removed. "Red generator malfunction light" should be there? But the signal pistol, wouldn't that be useful and historically correct? Admittedly the interior looks a little different (the pitot, fuel pump & radiator switches isn't in the same place). pitot = ( 28 ) "pressure-head heater switch" fuel pump "booster pump" is "left side of cockpit" but not marked in this image. Probably next to ( 28 ) above (44) "Map case", is that triple switches? -0303- Posted April 17, 2020 Author Posted April 17, 2020 It has an Merlin 66 engine. I don't know what cockpit it should have. I just googled for Mark IX. Art-J Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 The IX had a crapton of sub-variants with various cockpit equipment iterations. The one simulated in DCS is partially based on MH434, so it has a mixture of early and late IX features. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

Merlin 66 does not have slow cut off. System specs: I7 14700KF, Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite, 64GB DDR4 3600MHz, Gigabyte RTX 4090,Win 11, 48" OLED LG TV + 42" LG LED monitor

Just saw another video where the Bf109 fired a flare. I think game play wise it would be useful. But again, only if it makes sense for this model of MkIX.
