randomTOTEN Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Why not use features already inside the Mission Editor (albeit designed for other aircraft) and adapt them to the F/A-18C and F-16C? I'm specifically thinking Target Points for the Ka-50, and Initial Point for the A-10C. Adapt the TP system to the Hornet so that they become PP/PB points. This saves us the wait for the entire AO/MDC interface, while allowing a "back end" functionality for JDAM/JSOW/HARM completion. The entire mission planning interface can be added on top later, and this solution uses features already within the ME. In addition, the A-10's IP system appears to allow designers to create up to all 2050 waypoints for the A-10's CDU. Why not adapt this to the Hornet's 200 waypoint library? A MDC shouldn't be needed to define the A/A WYPT in the Hornet. The A-10 knows where Bullseye is in the Mission, the Hornet should be able to do the same. Either Waypoint Properties Mode or an Advanced Waypoint Action could be used to WPDSG upon "loading" the data card at aircraft start. These would be solutions to bridge the gap between the present, and the future Mission Planning interface. Let me know what you think.:pilotfly:
AvroLanc Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 +1 Target points exist for other aircraft. The bare minimum of 6 GPS PP points for JDAM, in the interim, would be very welcome.
