markturner1960 Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Hi, using bankers mission to practice cold starts and trapping on the boat, I find once airborne, the velocity vector behaves strangely.... I have to uncage for it to appear properly, before I do this, I just have the W indicator, when I uncage, the VV appears. When I bank each way it shoots up or down the hud and there is a flashing ghost version of it to the right.... What have I done wrong or not set properly? Creepy Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 From your description, my only guess is you haven’t completed the INS alignment as part of your start up procedure. From an airfield, once one engine is online and with parking brake set, place the INS knob to “GND”, you’ll see a timer start on the HSI along with the alignment countdown... after a while you should see “OK” appear next to the countdown. At this point place the INS Knob to “NAV”.
CBStu Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Try starting in the air. That is what I do and have never had those problems. This experiment will tell you if there is something missing in your procedure.
markturner1960 Posted April 26, 2020 Author Posted April 26, 2020 Ok, thanks, I played around, it is because I had the INS switch set to IFA instead of nav...... I have been following Trickers carrier start up tutorial on you tube and this is what he says to set it at...if you turn it back to nav, the behaviour stops..... Not sure if this is a bug or it is supposed to do that in that setting, maybe someone who knows can comment. Thanks all System specs: PC1 :Scan 3XS Ryzen 5900X, 64GB Corsair veng DDR4 3600, EVGA GTX 3090 Win 10, Quest Pro, Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo monitor.
Darcwaynard Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 IFA is for In Flight Alignment which isnt modelled yet. If Tricker said that it must have been a mistake or misinterpreted. Once you're aligned you always set to NAV.
