Orwell Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Can anyone tell me what exactly is happening when I am pounding on TMS UP and I'm unable to lock a bogey in the F16? He's right there on the scope, but I cannot lock him. What's going on? Also, second but related issue, what's going on when there's a bogey 20NM out, I know he's there on F10 map. I know he's within the elevation range and azimuth of my current RWS settings, but I cannot pick him up on radar. If I could get these two issues figured out, I would feel a million times better about playing DCS.
Frederf Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Not all objects drawn on the FCR format are radar returns. Some are datalink or IFF.
Oceandar Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 And the second one, what was the aspect of the bandit? If he's notching you then there's big chance you'd find a hard time lock him up. Mastering others is strength. Mastering yourself is true power. - Lao Tze
deadpool Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 I recently also learnt that there are coded hard limits, if you are racing with mach 1+ behind another F-16 at mach 1+ you will only be able to see it on radar exactly when it's within 20nm ..
