4c Hajduk Veljko Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Su-25T is the most hardcore and most challenging airplane to fly in Flaming Cliffs. I seldom fly anything else. GGTharos Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I have a 60nm kill with AIM-120 online, long ago. I had a blinking WTF sign hanging over my head at that one. 45 nm ER maddog ....ballistic in face with no guidance/Radar/ecm/nuthin... thats hardcore ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
The_GOZR Posted January 11, 2008 Author Posted January 11, 2008 ok here the conclusion...Then For ground pounder would be the "Su25T/TM/A" and fighter would the MiG-29A ( flying into combat like a naked man going into swords battle) :)
SoaringEagle74 Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 you dont necessarily need to get low for CAS. In real life the B-1 and B-2 and even B-52 can do CAS at 189 billion feet. :P but you can get close of course with no prob. smaller platforms its fine. like the A-10 is built around a gun thats why it gets close. The B-2 and F-117 don't need to fly at '189 billion feet' because they are stealth. I doubt conventional sam radar or manpads have any reasonable chance of tracking them...much less getting a lock! Off course, this stuff is highly classified so no one really knows all the details other than 'people in the know'. Actually, with gps guided munitions bombings and CAS have taken a whole new different meaning. They can bomb from higher altitude and avoid AAA while still being highly accurate. The usaf is light years ahead of other countries when it comes to high tech.

S = SPARSE(m,n) abbreviates SPARSE([],[],[],m,n,0). This generates the ultimate sparse matrix, an m-by-n all zero matrix. - Matlab help on 'sparse'
GGTharos Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was. High-high, he never knew what hit him apparently (went music on just as I fired) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

I doubt conventional sam radar or manpads have any reasonable chance of tracking them...much less getting a lock!Don’t know about B-2, but, F-117 can be tracked, locked and engaged with “conventional” SAM radar systems. By the way, F-117 is retired now. In my view, one of the reasons for retirement is the fact that it can be tracked and engaged by conventional SAM radar systems. Stealth technologies (shape, paint, radio and etc…) are very good and when applied in an integrated system, they work very well. Pilotasso Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I have a 60nm kill with AIM-120 online, long ago. I had a blinking WTF sign hanging over my head at that one. Max I did was 40m in 1.12a, high-high VS jamming target. Dont think he ever got any warning. But its a one off realy. Its extremely difficult to achieve. .
GGTharos Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 ANYTHING can be tracked within a certain range. The F-117 is no exception. It is still a very capable aircraft, but it has quite simply been replaced. That's all. Don’t know about B-2, but, F-117 can be tracked, locked and engaged with “conventional” SAM radar systems.
