coode Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 I have installed two different DCS installs on seperate drives. I switch between to play with friends on stable and to play multiplayer with other friends. I run the command DCS_Updater.exe update @release to switch to stable and the opposite to go to Open Beta. I don't know why it has to download 20gbs of stuff each time I switch! Help?:helpsmilie:
randomTOTEN Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 Why are you using the dcs_updater.exe if you have 2 up-to-date installations? There's no reason. Use the DCS.exe in each installation to launch it. There should be no "switching" if you really do have 2 full installations.
Emmy Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 In my OB install, there is no DCS.exe. Updater.exe is the only .exe that exists. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://www.476vfightergroup.com/content.php High Quality Aviation Photography For Personal Enjoyment And Editorial Use. www.crosswindimages.com

Emmy Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 Maybe this latest update put it back but it sure wasn’t there in the immediate previous version. randomTOTEN Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 (edited) hmmm.. my shortcut actually goes to DCS_Updater.exe.. let me see if I can start it using just DCS.exe in either case, you should be able to start the appropriate version using the application within that specific install. No need to switch anything is my understanding. EDIT: Yup starts up with DCS.exe just dandy. Edited April 28, 2020 by randomTOTEN
