Tower directions: Is heading true or magentic?

In general in DCS, when tower gives you inbound heading is it true or magnetic?

 

 

 

I also noticed that distance is given by tower in nautical miles, yet in map distance is measured in km. Is there a way to set map distance measuring tool in nautical miles as well?

Don't know specifically for DCS, but tower controllers should provide vectors in magnetic.

 

 

Change your units to imperial in the options menu gameplay tab.

I haven't checked yet for towers, but AWACS uses true heading.
