markturner1960 Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 (edited) Hi, how Do you record flight hours in the logbook ? I wiped mine by mistake and although I only had 12 hours and 2 AA kills, I would like to not lose these. I found the file and opened it using notepad, but when I enter 12 in the daytime section, they don’t show in the logbook..... What is the format please? Also, what does the invulnerable option do, as I have not selected immortal in the main options.....? LuckyFromArma Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 Did you save it in the same format as the original file? I mean with the same file extension? NotePad uses .txt by default, so you want to open the file using the *.* option and save it in the original format. I use a database to log my hours, because DCS doesn't maintain a record on a server anywhere(I have the non-Steam version), so if I have to reinstall DCS for any reason the logbook starts over.

Technically, if you copy the logbook.lua file over to the new install, it will be recognized allright (tried it recently after upgrading the PC), but in either case you're right - it's not a reliable DCS feature and if flight hours are important for a player, it's safer to record them separately. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
markturner1960 Posted April 30, 2020 Author Posted April 30, 2020 Thx, I figured it out System specs: PC1 :Scan 3XS Ryzen 5900X, 64GB Corsair veng DDR4 3600, EVGA GTX 3090 Win 10, Quest Pro, Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo monitor.

I had a HDD failure and couldn't even access the disk. I knew how many hours I had, and decided to create a database to track them. I can't recall how many times I've been promoted to Lt. Col. lol :pilotfly:
