Okay, I know that it's been about 10 years since I've messed with Foxy, but I'm having a biatch of a time trying to modify a profile for the Cougar HOTAS. Many thanks to Rudel and MVS-Viper for the F16 profiles, but I have a few things that I wanted to modify for a few buttons. The problem I'm having is that I will change or make a new macro definition and drag and drop it (or write it from scratch, it doesn't matter) into the BTN definition, save, and load it to the stick but the old macro is still there.

For example, I don't want the wheel brakes on the paddle switch, I'd rather have a headtracker recenter on it. I define Headtracking_Recenter = {CTL F9} in the macros, go into the TMJ file and drop it into the button line:

BTN S4 /I /H Paddle_Switch-Depress

/O /H Headtracking_Recenter

I save both files, and download it to the stick, but the keypress viewer still shows the paddle sending 'w'. Checking the TMJ doesn't show any errors.

I don't remember having this much trouble way back when....

Can anyone tell me what I'm forgetting (or what I forgot I'm forgetting)?

Thanks!

Do you have the "Enable after download" option ticked?

Well, I thought I had, but I checked it off and back on and now it seems to be working correctly. Is there a difference in downloading from Foxy or from the CCP?

Thanks!

No, but I always download from Foxy, as that way I can leave open the graphic with the button assignments, on the background, just in case I need to refer to it :)

One last question..... (for now...) I've gotten everything working the way I'd like, but while the microstick works fine for the radar cursor, when I go into the TGP display in narrow field, the cursor is way too jumpy to get it centered over a target. Is there a setting you can add in the microstick settings that would make it be more smooth? Using Rudel's stick settings below:

MIY 5 3 (0 40 60 100) (/H RDR_CURSOR_Switch-Down) ^ (/H RDR_CURSOR_Switch-Up)

MIX 5 3 (0 40 60 100) (/H RDR_CURSOR_Switch-Left ) ^ (/H RDR_CURSOR_Switch-Right)

The Foxy help doesn't really explain how the banding in the Type 5 statement helps with the sensitivity... I had thought maybe use the /A modifier with a slight delay instead of the /H, but that's not allowed.
