eracer1111 Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 (edited) I was so looking forward to mapping the complete MFD's (including touch clickable buttons) to my touchscreen. I watched a few Helios tutorials, and was all set to dive in. Alas, it doesn't appear that Helios downloads are available anymore. I searched this forum, and the last mention of Helios was in 2018. Someone also mentioned Ikarus, but the consensus seemed to be that it was orders of magnitude more difficult to use with DCS than Helios. Does anyone have a Helios installer they can share? Will it work with DCS 2.5? I read one comment that said it would. Or should I try Ikarus instead? Edited May 6, 2020 by eracer1111
Lenop Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 https://github.com/BlueFinBima/Helios I don't use Helios myself but this seems to be what you are looking for?

Thanks, but these are developer files. The link to gadrocsworkshop.com no longer works. "This is the source code repository for the Helios Virtual Cockpit System for DCS World. This repository is for core and module developers use. If you are looking for end user downloads and documentation please visit http://www.gadrocsworkshop.com." Edited May 6, 2020 by eracer1111
lerxster Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 It seems to have been a server blip... Was back up earlier!
Thermal Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 (edited) The link to the latest binaries is right in the github documentation - one line under the link to gadrocs workshop: The latest binaries from this fork of Helios are available at https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3302014 Edited May 6, 2020 by Thermal

I'm a simple guy. I need to see the words 'Installer' or 'Application.' When I see "...latest binaries from this fork" I think, "Nah, that won't do at all!" :P I do appreciate the info. derammo Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 Hi all. Gadroc hasn't worked on Helios in a very long time. BlueFinBima created a fork (this means a personal "copy") and maintained it and added some interfaces. BlueFinBima is still maintaining it and we have been building a new version 1.6 (as yet unreleased) on that base. So in short, the files on https://github.com/BlueFinBima/Helios/releases/latest are always the latest release available (at least from us.) These will generally be the same files that BlueFinBima also uploads to the Eagle forum location linked above. Either of them gives you the installer (*.msi file) you are looking for. In general, there will be a zip file that contains the installer (*.msi) and a setup.exe to use in case you are missing dependencies.
