memoric Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 Hello So a strange problem occured today. I was flying and heard a "disconnect" sound that windows does, when something disconnects. And the screen of my VR-Headset goes black. Only quiting to desktop is solving the problem. I have a Oculus Rift CV1. Anyone knows how to fix? I have the Headset plugged in one of these: https://www.brack.ch/icy-box-usb-hub-ib-hub1410-c3-623038 Could this be the problem? But I have no USB Ports available anymore as all of the are being used. Thanks!

When using a USB3 Hub for the Rift it is best to use a powered USB 3 Hub. Alternatively if you have a PCIe slot available you could also add a USB 3 card. Still get a powered one. Innatek and Startech are two known to work pretty good. Rift can be greedy with USB 3 ports, best to plug it into one that is not sharing it's hub with other devices. I run my Rift S with it's USB-3 plugged into my RTX 2080 Ti C-Port. If you happen to have a 20x series of GPU you could also plug into it's C-Port with a USB-A to USB-C adapter. Assuming it has one, not all 20x cards have a C-Port. Cake Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 Well, I ordered now this: https://www.brack.ch/delock-pci-express-karte-89355-usb-3-0-5x-extern-plus-2x-intern-815868 This should solve the problem I hope. Thank you for helping! How'd this work out for you? I've been having intermittent black screens on my Rift lately, too. Very frustrating. I can confirm in my case its not a USB issue (I think). Seems to have the same problem with USB3.0 and 3.1 from my MB, and also using a powered hub. Never had any issueson the same hardware prior to May 2020. Pre-ordered a Reverb G2 because of this, but if there is a fix it would be great until this shows. 6700K@4.6 48Gb - 1080Ti Hybrid - Warthog - RIFT
Giat Posted January 18, 2022 Posted January 18, 2022 HI, I'm having blakc screen too on my CV1 oculus Rift headset. The black screen Stops as soon as i'm turning DCS OFF. This black screen is showing for short time then goes longer and longer till it still Black forever. The tracking is working ( i could have landed with the screen repetitor, i was hosting the game for lots of friends, couldn't ruin their game ) and i've tried to unplug and plug it again in game. But as soon as i'm turning DCS OFF, the RIFT CV1 is turning ON immediatly. Any idea ?
