Me too suddenly! Well guess what?

If you go to cat 4, angle yourself diagonally towards the furthest front right, step on the brakes and go to zone 5 and let the brakes go with flaps down, you can take off - without jester even screaming about sink rate and I surprisingly just let it come off the deck - it barely droppped!

I was shocked. Id tried it before but the extra run up room - that was the trick!

I dont know if Im happy I got that to work as a wrk arnd of sorts or sad its possible. I have a feeling irl it wouldnt be.

If you take off light with after burner why not.

But IRL F-14B didn't take off with AB because in case of engine failure during take off it would be impossible to counter the asymmetric thrust.

Also the deck is crowded IRL, you can't do that.

Catapult is the most efficient way...

The thrust to weight of a light tomcat is very near 1.0, so yeah...

Dont get me wrong. I always want to use the cat. And I hadnt been having the problems others had, then I was having it sometimes happen where Id need to hit it a few times/or several seconds would pass and Id throttle down and get shot.

But no this time NOTHING would happen. I literally linked with every cat and then did this out of frustration and panic as the strike package pushed away

As for going light nooo.. thats why i was surprised - full fuel, 2 full tanks, 2 aim 9, 2 aim7f, 4 aim54 mk60s.. could be heavier. But not light. Lol!
