They did not have to provide the APIs and they didn't have to hold off on hornet updates for the sake of Jeff but they did and they did. Now we're into June, whats the next excuse gonna be?? Sorry we couldn't release the New Amraam updates because it would break SD-10...Sorry we couldn't release FLIR because it would break TCS on the Tomcat. This is not a sustainable way of doing things. Third parties need to follow EDs lead not the other way around. Jeff updates and maintenance should take a back seat to hornet development, or that very least not hamper it in any way. It's great that Derka has the Jeff in the state that its in, I'm happy for them. But it definitely shouldn't be at the hornet's or any other older modules expense. Except they got there first and provided the test case data. And for that they should be punished so you can fly your F-teen, while the other module gets broke? Yeah... Bummer man, but at the end of the day ED got that little bit right at least. They will give Deka the chance to update their module with the new API. If you really have a hard-on for A/G radar you can check it out in the jeff. Its terrible, an no one really uses it. Probably like IRL. Hopefully the new implementation will suck less. It's the principal homie, I could care less about A2G radar, but it's quite the news to me that ED is using third party aircraft as test beds. I always thought the was what the hornet was for...you know... Because they've said that. Hornet has been here for two years but now we gotta wait because it might inconvenience owners of a product that's been here 5 seconds. I wanna know when this strategy began, because ED has updated the core for their products plenty of times with some new feature and borked a bunch of third party aircraft. Yet Never once have I heard them do something like this. Where an update is postponed because of the effect it might have on a completely separate project. First of all ouch lol second I've got nothing against Derka in particular I distrust ALL the third parties. And besisdes that for all we know they were referring to HB because the Viggan has it too. I mean I don't disagree with you to a point. The hornet was supposed to be the test bed. But then it seems like ED soiled the bed with it. And that sucks and is frustrating. The whole Hornet/Viper thing from last year. It sucks I know. I basically stopped flying both airframes after all that. The Viper is way too incomplete, and the fact the hornet kept laaaging feature wise behind the Viper for A/A really turned me off to both. But it seems like the A/G radar API at least in basic form was out for Deka to use, and they did use it. And now ED needs to update it, and since its the one plane in the game that does use it that plane needs to be considered in addition to the F18. And really, the Jeff has been here for 6 months, not 5 seconds, and its an actual mostly feature complete module that at least works the vast majority of the time. So in this case I think ED is doing the right thing even if we have to wait yet another 2 weeks for them to sort it out, which after missing deadline after deadline does suck.
