Magic search mode graphic doesn't change in OB

The HUD symbol showing the Magic search mode doesn't change in latest OB version. Mine is always stuck in vertical.

 

It works OK in Stable Version.

Sorry, I probably wasn't clear. what I mean is the symbol next to MAG on the left side of the HUD. Loks like <--> for horizontal. The main symbology works fine.

Works fine for me too, and it can't work fine on stable version (as mentionned in OP) as MAV search is only implemented on OB :smilewink:

 

Vertical when CNM Magic or CNM Canon selected, horizontal when CNM Neutral selected and MAV selected

I think we may be on cross purposes here.

See attached screenshots from Stable version. This is what does not work in OB.

We're exactly on the same page instead: I asked you about MAG/MAV because if it doesn't change on the PCA it means it's not going to change in the HUD either.

 

Moreover, what you are showing in the screenshot are not the Magic search patterns, but they rather look as the pre-update CCM modes, and that's fine since you're showing the Stable version. In the OB, with the Magic patterns, you see an horizontal or vertical double-headed arrow, no circles and no |--|.

 

Any mods installed?

Sorry, but I am confused. You are showing boresight search in both screenshots, and sure, the line goes from vertical to horizontal when switching MAV on.

 

My point is, that in the Stable version, the symbology changed when the search mode changed, i.e. vertical scan was a vertical line, boresight had a circle and horizontal scan had a horizontal line.

 

This does not happen in OB version.

Yes, and that's fine. IT DOESN'T have to happen. I showed you the Boresight on purpose: the Magic patterns are completely separated from the CCM modes.

 

The symbol next to "MAG" in the HUD now shows the Magic pattern, NOT the CCM mode. The CCM mode is shown with the circle around the gun cross if it's Boresight, or a dashed line for vertical or horizontal mode.

 

In Stable, instead, the symbol next to MAG on HUD shows che CCM (so again, Boresight, Vertical or Horizontal), just like the screenshots you showed us. But those are radar modes, not Magic search patterns. We don't have Magic search patterns on Stable.

Right, I'm getting there!

 

Maybe you can help with my next issue, and that is I can't seem to change the Magic search modes. Pressing the Magic Unlock button doesn't seem to do anything.

 

EDIT: sorry, ignore that, I'll play around with it. I see now it's got a different type of symbology.

Ok! Be sure to read the updated manual, it should have all the new stuff. Latest version is 1.1.1, you already have it in your DCS World\Mods\aircraft\M-2000C\Doc

Thanks for your help. I get it now. I think part of the issue was that I was looking at Chuck's Guide as well as the latest manual. Chuck's Guide is pretty out of date, and the conflicts with what was in BD's manual confused things. That's my excuse anyway!
