Hello

I am having trouble launching my F-18 from the catapult. I engage the throttle to full and the plane just sits there. There is a green light with the word Lbar on it but on external view the launch bar looks like it is hooked up properly. I had no trouble launching before and I am wondering if I am doing something different or forgetting to do something. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The F-18 doesn't have a salute. It works in every other mission except Operation Exigent Rivera mission 2. Now I was fooling around in mission editor trying to make it more mission friendly for me and I must have clicked something I shouldn't have.

Wipe out, full throttle then press "U" is the way i go.

How much longer, Ops? The engine’s overheating and so am I. We either stand down or blow up. Which do you want?

No that would be more of the F-14 launch. With the F/A-18 if you press U after already being hooked up to the shuttle it will disconnect you from the shuttle and drop the JBD thus a guaranteed swimming F/A-18.

With the F/A-18 and on the Stennis you simply go to full AB and the launch happens automatically.

After you hook up to the shuttle on the F/A-18 you put the launch bar switch back up. This will get rid of the green lbar light.

Different procedure again from the F-14 where you do not put the launch bar back up after hooking to the shuttle.

F-18 Catapult Launce problem

Ok Thanks everyone. I will try the suggestions.

Ok I put the launch bar switch up which got rid off the green light but the plane still will not be launched. Now if I change it to takeoff runway in mission editor it takes off fine. Now this is only happening in Operation Exigent Riviera mission 2.
