xjk Posted May 26, 2020 Posted May 26, 2020 I currently play DCS World 2.5 using a 1920x1200 monitor, which is a resolution setting that I find in the options menu. I am considering getting a 2560x1440 monitor, but it doesn't look like DCS World 2.5 supports this. Is that correct? In that case, I suppose the monitor would still just show the game at 1920x1200 right (in other words, it would be a waste to upgrade?) Thanks. XJK
panton41 Posted May 26, 2020 Posted May 26, 2020 I have a 1440p monitor and never had a problem with it in DCS. panzerd18 Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 DCS does support 2560x1440. If you decided to upgrade your monitor, keep in mind the higher resolution will put more strain on your graphics card so expect lower FPS compared to the 1920x1080 monitor.
xjk Posted June 4, 2020 Author Posted June 4, 2020 Thanks panzerd18, Innerloop, ulmaniac and panton41 for your helpful replies. What I had missed is the aspect ratio for which the DCS options menu has a separate entry. Mine was set to 16:10 (1920x1200). Once I set it to 16:9 (2560x1440) the option showed up. And the graphics card does just fine with it.

XJK 2560 x 1440 works great in DCS, you'll love it, the option for the resolution won't show up until the monitor is up and running. Great resolution for gaming in general and it's really nice for DCS. It gives nice detail without the godawful 'straining' that 4K can put on your graphics card. Emmy Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 I run 2560X and rarely experience FPS lower than 30 anywhere on any map at max settings.
