Hi, sorry, still having some issues getting this working as it should ...... seemed to be ok before last update, but now can’t seem to get response from recipients.

In my preferences, it says easy comms off, although this is set on in DcS:

 

 

Here is the log of my latest attempts while refuelling:

 

 

Does anything jump out as being wrong?

It looks like you have not got a radio turned on or are pushing a wrong button (the use an active TX node messages)

I don't think you have PTT set up properly, the logs show no 'listening resumed/listening suspended'. That 'REL HOT' in the very first screenshot means Voice Attack is just listening all the time, which is why it's recognising commands but doesn't know what to do with them.

 

In the last post you have TX1 and TX2 set to joystick buttons 4 and 5 respectively. Are they the ones you're using for PTT? TX1 uses the frequency selected on COMM1 in the Hornet, and TX2 COMM2.

 

You also appear to have button 5 bound to exterior lights off in DCS. Make sure to clear that and check for any conflicts with button 4 while you're at it.

You don't need the comms buttons mapped in the DCS controls and the numbering makes me think they might be assigned in a different order (this is a total guess as I don't run WinWing). Might be worth clearing them out and retrying to see what happens.

 

 

Also, I note from another thread that you got your WinWing yesterday - have you remapped the VA controls for this throttle?

Ok, after Burns advice have looked and my Hoyas comms buttons are 9,10, 11 & 12. So I have done this in the editor:

 

 

And cleared the others. Just going to check if it works!

By the way, Windows has a built-in tool for taking screengrabs. Press the windows key and type 'snip'.

It looks like it is working correctly for capturing and decoding the message now - if easy comms are on, did you select the tanker at the start to set the frequency (I am rusty on easy comms on as i only ever fly with them off). I get exactly the same no tanker recipients message when I try this outside DCS (which makes sense)

You can select the tanker with "tanker, select", if just one, or "Arco, select"/"Texaco, select"/"Shell, select" to be more specific.

 

you need the select tunes radio option set

I have tried using select as well, tanker is texaco in this mission, no go.....

 

 

 

I had it working nicely up until the new update 2 days ago and have not changed anything apart from what I have documented.......

Not to be an ass Mark. But I would agree with Brun that it's easier to see your pictures of you would use the Snipping Tool, or Snip & Sketch. Both are free and should already be installed.

One of the pictures literally had me wonder if I was on acid.

The problem is that it looks to be working in that the messages are constructed properly. Do you have Hide On-Screen Text unchecked in the VAICOM options and, if so, do does text appear in the top right corner of the screen in DCS when you have given your Approaching for refuel command.

 

 

It might be worth attaching your mission file to the next post so I can try it on my setup (it will be found in your Saved Games\DCS openbeta\missions folder)

I would start with, does it or does it not work with ordinary ATC?

That's very easy to check. Hot start on airfield ask for permissions. If it doesn't work here it is easier to troubleshoot, IMHO.

Also, I would recommend stop using Easy Comms since you asked. It's rewarding because everything in VAICOM starts to make more sense.

Hi, yes, but then I need to fart around uploading pictures to a host and getting images tags and that’s a real pain....with Tapatalk, I can choose a picture right from my phone in sec0nds. It’s not a screenshot competition!!

 

Hopefully you can see what you need to from the admittedly poor pictures.

Haven't really noticed this option before. Thanks, you learn something everyday!

But how do I get it placed correctly in the text?

I admit I find the ED forum old, outdated and extremely cumbersome for most everything, especially the lack of cut and paste. Here's my workflow anyway. I use SnagIT, just because it existed pre-Windows solutions. I "snag" the exact area I want, call it pre-cropping if you want, save with default suggested filename. Reply or start a new post in the forum. Choose attach icon, and upload, mayby multiple. Insert in text.

So yes, your way is way quicker, but I prefer mine to get it exactly right!

Mark. What missions have you tried? So we can try to reproduce with Easy Comms on.

Have you checked if it is working with airport ATC?

Have you tried the "Options" menu commands?

Hi, ok I have tried using the ATC in the ready on the ramp and cold and dark instant action scenarios. I had some degree of success, but mostly after I turned off easy comms. See here:

 

I have tried the refuel mission I was having issues with and that works fine.

Super carrier missions work fine as well I think, although only flew one circuit.

 

So, not sure what was going on, but seems ok
