Not sure If i am going crazy here but since the latest DCS World update if there's any sun on the screens at all they become more or less unreadable, didn't notice this problem before but the green text isn't penetrating at all, I can't even use my own shadow in TIR to create a shadow haha, noticed this on the built in supercarrier cold start spawn mission which I just used to test.

 

If anyone else is getting this please let me know, I don't think I ever had any trouble in the previous build.

I’m seeing exactly the same issue and it was there before this patch, I’m assuming it is realistic but agree you can’t shade it from the sun like you could in real life. There is an option for reflection on DDI’s but that did not fix it. I ended up using the AMPCD which is more awkward but at least you can read it.

Its quite a bit lighter than it was, certainty using night mode in day doesnt work at all anymore where previously Night mode on the AMPCD improved readability on a busy map. Its approaching the point where for night mode to be useable you need to turn off all the lights in your room, which is perhaps realistic, but not completely practical. :).

I'm noticing that all the cockpit lighting is much dimmer than it was before this last update. The console and IP lighting don't get nearly as bright, and the HUD, DDIs and AMPCD appear like they are all set to night mode. The DDIs do get nearly unreadable with any sort of direct light on them, where as before the update the sun had to be nearly over your shoulder beaming right onto a display before you couldn't actually read them.
