If I switch to A/G mode when I have STT on the radar contact, it will happen that the target box will remain on the HUD even if the radar is no longer tracking the target.

 

Even if the system switches to the A / G mapping mode of the radar, the radar does not perform terrain mapping. More precisely, the radar performs a partial scan and stops working. The AA radar contact remains on the HUD and SA pages. Due to the limitations of the aircraft systems, only RWS and VS modes are available in A/G mode and the target cannot be tracked. In my opinion, switching to A/G mode should unlock the radar contact from the STT and normal A/G radar operation.
