Good afternoon,

I have set my HOTAS A10 warthog and I’m loving it. I have a issue when it comes to bindings on the Throttle. Is there a way of setting a switch to on by flicking it up and to turn it off by flicking it down. I am currently flying the F15c and using the APU switch for powering the Aircraft. I can set the switch to turn on by flicking up but it will not turn off the power which I turn the switch off? Is there a way of doing this? Thanks for all your help.

There are two ways to fix this: one is for the aircraft to include a "special for joystick" keybind; most of the non-FC3 titles do. The other way is to program your hotas using its maker software: Target, this is the only way you have with an aircraft like the F-15.

Hi,

DCS - ingame recognizes only throttle switch 20 (Apu switch up)

The Thrustmaster TARGET software recognizes two positions

APUON

APUOFF

But I would not use TARGET if not necessary

:D In this case I would use the keyboard

Engine Start RShift Home

Engine Stop RShift END

I would recommend to setup the Pinky Lever (stick button 4) on the stick as MODIFIER

It doubles your switches/knobs/...

The engine for example only

Engine Start RShift Home = Throttle button 20

Engine Stop RShift END = Stick button 4 + Throttle button 20

Apu switch up -> Engine start

Apu switch down

Pinky Lever + APU switch up -> Engine Stop

Hi guys, thanks for your help. I will try button 4 as modifier and see how I get on. Thanks again

The Warthog throttle’s 2-way toggle switches register ON-OFF state with Windows (and ON-OFF-ON for 3-way switches), so unless you use a specific program to make the OFF state recognizable you’ll only get one input out of the switch.

Target or joystick gremlin or RS_mapper can recognize the OFF state (DX button release) of a switch, so you can use these to circumvent this and program bindings to your liking.

Newer throttle such as Winwing does it differently, there are no OFF state so this provides true 2 or 3-way toggle switches. This means those switches will always be in an ON state at any given position which makes it easier to program but the downside is that more DX input buttons are utilized.
