Tiger-II Posted June 18, 2020 Posted June 18, 2020 Hi, The TGP has some issues: * Settings reset on mode change (CCD/IR) * Stepping is too large * Zero has two steps before changing +1/-1. * TGP contrast slowly washes out with time (either too light or too dark). It's as if the sensor is degrading. * TGP head does not start caged (visual model) * TGP head can not be caged (visual model) * View snaps on pod reset. It previously slewed smoothly. * TGP view performance seems degraded (it seems like FPS issue still). Motorola 68000 | 1 Mb | Debug port "When performing a forced landing, fly the aircraft as far into the crash as possible." - Bob Hoover. The JF-17 is not better than the F-16; it's different. It's how you fly that counts. "An average aircraft with a skilled pilot, will out-perform the superior aircraft with an average pilot."
J20Stronk Posted June 18, 2020 Posted June 18, 2020 (edited) Some more TGP issues I found: * On cold starts if you start the engine, load DTC with pod equipped, turn on CLDP and immediately turn on TGP, the BIT/alignment on the TGP is skipped. Pushing any MFD OSB on the TGP page or cycling CLDP off/on BEFORE you turn it on will start BIT correctly. * When entered point track and target is lost due to aircraft or terrain masking, TGT RNG and Relative Velocity disappears from HUD. It should show range and velocity to selected waypoint, since that automatically becomes SPI when TGP is masked. *When in point track and you use the zoom in / out axis (the "smooth" one controlled by the T6 axis keybind or + and - keys, not S2 fwd/aft.), point track will be "lost". TGP will still follow target if it were still in point track, but bounding box disappears and you cannot slew TGP anymore unless S2 depress to unlock or T5 depress to re-lock in PT or A track. (Area track has neither of the two issues above, but aircraft or terrain mask does not reset SPI to WP. using T6 or +/- zoom does not break slewing in area track.) *Time to impact is way off. WMD auto-lases for an average 10-20 seconds longer after impact (though I think I recall someone saying this was intentional. Still, it'd be nice to have an actuall TTI counter for dropped ordinance separate from lase time.) Edited June 18, 2020 by J20Stronk
Mustang25 Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 I can also confirm that cold start will sometimes skip the pod BIT. Also I would love to have a TTI counter.
Tiger-II Posted June 20, 2020 Author Posted June 20, 2020 Is TTI counter on the real aircraft? I think laser time is a fixed time. I noticed firing BRM the laser showed long run times of 30+ seconds. I'm not sure the laser timer is bugged. I'm sure I've seen it jump/pause while lasing. Tiger-II Posted June 21, 2020 Author Posted June 21, 2020 Another issue: * TGP "forgets" axis zoom on magnification change. Requires moving of axis to remind it where it should be.
