Chandawg Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Currently I have an Intel 2.8 Dual core CPU and a x1650 ATI card, 2 Gigs of ram and windows Vista installed. I know vista is a resouce hog, I also know my ram isn't of the same manufacturer and that can hurt performance. So I am thinking of buying some new ram, actually considering buying two, 2 Gig Sticks of Crosair DDR2 ram. mvsgas Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 I think RAM would be a easy and cheap first step to upgrade. Later maybe a better video card and so on. I believe that RAM is a good start for upgrade in any system build. I have also heard that 4g of RAM is a good idea for Vista. I do not have Vista but I guess it uses RAM better than XP, don't quote me on that because someone just told me that and I'm not sure if it's true. To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Pilotasso Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Vista 32 bits wont give you much of a boost from RAM since the full 4GB wont be fully detected by it but 3GB. Only if you swich to 64 bit it will. .
