cool_t Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Hi, I was on TUAF Server I on Sunday, I was in a desperate High Altitude BVR fight with one of the best Pilots LOMAC has seen "Pilotaso". Here is the story. After reloading from Glendesik I was probing the SA-6's at Krandisor-center. After threading the needle in the SAM WEZ, which there were 3 sites, I flew a zig zag path in a "S" patern which put me infront of the "BIG" lake 15nm east of the Air-Ports. Well Pilo was egressing from the north at 50,000 ft headed west. Well as you can guess we saw eachother, at "high-altitude" Aim-120s work better than your average "Perch" dive attack, so I lofted 2 120s to let him know I had a bead on him. He locked me up for a bit but I did not get a launch Indication from my RWR. Pilo decided to run and I had some 120s left on my good old F-15c with plenty of gas, guns, guts, and no other bandits in a posistion to become a threat. After I shot a nice 120 at his 6, 4nm away from him he kindly comented on my skills. Upon landing my F-15c and exiting TUAF server I looked at the TAC-Track and saw an AIM-7 that went active on me when the bandits aircraft was well beyond its radar gimbal and tracking limitations. Well, its no surprise to me because I have seen it before, go to your mission editor and set up your self with some bandits and AIM-7s. Lock the bandits up then shoot the AIM-7s then un lock the bandit and see what happens some times, you will be suprised!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :joystick:
Aeroscout Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 If i'm not mistaken, if the bandit has music on the entire time, the AIM-7 can guide it's self the entire way. However, if the bandit turns off ECM, then the AIM-7 losses everything. DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices

If I remenber correctly I did fire one AIM-7 but I lost lock immidiatly after when you swiched on ECM, I quit the fight as that missile was the only one I had left and ran away. After that its a big mistery to me. 2 .

After that its a big mistery to me. Pilo, Muuuhahahahahah!!!!! Dont wory bud there will be plenty of incursions to be had. You know how I work, improv and expect the un- expected. Yes I did serch for just you, if you have the tac-View track you can see that I passed up 3 or 4 bandits on each sorti. I see you as I high valued target just like the A-50 is as well. As far as my Tac-view, its courupted and I cant figure out how to make it normal again, after I updated my Vid cards this happend. Try the AIM-7 in the mission editor and look at the results. :joystick:
