mvsgas Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Ok. I hope this is not to hard and very fun!! In the very first post on this thread, you can see a shine, clear metal door or panel with no paint. What major component is behind that door/panel and what does it do? To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
mvsgas Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 I got to go, so I will give you a clue: The door/ panel without paint is the exhaust of the component. The other door/ panel is the intake of the component. I'm tired so I hope this makes since. To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
ED Team Groove Posted March 20, 2008 ED Team Posted March 20, 2008 I think its the APU exhaust or the JFS exhaust Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
Fjordmonkey Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Groove's got it right. That's the JFS exhaust-door on an F16 :) Regards Fjordmonkey Clustermunitions is just another way of saying that you don't like someone. I used to like people, then people ruined that for me.
mvsgas Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Correct Jet Fuel Starter (JFS) exhaust. Basically, what starts the engine. Cool your turn To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Fjordmonkey Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 I've got one =) Name the aircraft type and the airforce it's from :D Bonus if you can also name which squadron it flew for and what it's current task is :P Regards Fjordmonkey Clustermunitions is just another way of saying that you don't like someone. I used to like people, then people ruined that for me.
Kusch Posted March 21, 2008 Author Posted March 21, 2008 F-5 from the 336th Squadron (Norway Air Force) Give me "flying telephone pole" (SA-2)!
Fjordmonkey Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Spot on :D Your turn! Regards Fjordmonkey Clustermunitions is just another way of saying that you don't like someone. I used to like people, then people ruined that for me.
Kusch Posted March 21, 2008 Author Posted March 21, 2008 Name this missile: Give me "flying telephone pole" (SA-2)!
Fjordmonkey Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 My first guess was that it's either a Matra Mistral or a variant of it. The problem is that I've been unable to find any reference to the Harrier every flying with it, so I'm very uncertain. Regards Fjordmonkey Clustermunitions is just another way of saying that you don't like someone. I used to like people, then people ruined that for me.
59th_LeFty Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 This would be the "Red hawk" missile? (forefather of the Firestreak) [sIGPIC]http://www.forum.lockon.ru/signaturepics/sigpic5279_1.gif[/sIGPIC] I could shot down a Kitchen :smartass:
Kusch Posted March 21, 2008 Author Posted March 21, 2008 No and no ;) Give me "flying telephone pole" (SA-2)!
59th_LeFty Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 By the way, are you sure that the first missiles are the same as the two others? (pylons are different and the seaker also looks different) [sIGPIC]http://www.forum.lockon.ru/signaturepics/sigpic5279_1.gif[/sIGPIC] I could shot down a Kitchen :smartass:
TucksonSonny Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Looks like an anti-tank missile. I guess it is not the Nag (a third generation "Fire-and-forget" anti-tank missile developed by India) because these are old pictures? I am confused because of the lack of fins.
