topol-m Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 It was a sub-sonic arcraft. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

topol-m Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Yes. It`s the cockpit of Ryan XV-5A but the "B" probably has the same cockpit. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Namenlos Ein Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 p.s. can we make a new rule? Under the picture there should be stated that if it's a mig-21 :D This is a MiG-21. But which one? Merry Christmas!
topol-m Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Of course you right. Nice. :) Next one: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Griffin Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I suggest that we extend this contest into civil aviation because after over 200 pages of riddles it's easier to find answers than new riddles. :D I bet not many people will be too excited about this suggestion though. Easy one:
AlphaOneSix Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 S-3 Viking Wow, I actually knew that one without having to look it up! That's a first.
Griffin Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Well it's christmas, time when the answers come without looking for them. :)
topol-m Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 (edited) I suggest that we extend this contest into civil aviation because after over 200 pages of riddles it's easier to find answers than new riddles. :D I bet not many people will be too excited about this suggestion though. I`m definitely not very excited about that idea, don`t know about the others. :D I myself will have difficulties to tell Boeing 737 from 767 or from some Airbus... I know the 747 has some bulky front part so I recognize it. ;) Now imagine if someone gives a cockpit from some exotic little private company - zero chance of finding it out. Crazy sh.t! And that`s cockpits, and if someone asks for a part from a civil aircraft? Some nuts and bolts? I have to admit though that I`ve asked once a question about an aircraft that wasn`t military, that was because there were several other similar questions, those were kind of exceptions. But after all there might be some civil aviation experts around here so who knows what they would like. I`m just saying that would be hell for me. And about the easy military questions, you don`t know what I`m capable of ;) I can find you riddles that will take days to answer I assure you. After all my title "Emperor of riddles", that I single handedly awarded myself earlier in this thread, has got to count for something  Edited December 24, 2009 by topol-m [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
lawndartleo Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Although it is not my turn, I offer to the best thread here at ED, my sincerest Christmas Wishes.
AlphaOneSix Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I offer a picture of me getting a little stick time. I posted a few similar pictures in the Beta Tester's forum, so if you're a tester or otherwise have access to that forum, I must ask you not to give it away! (Although it's probably too easy anyway).
Lucas_From_Hell Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Just some wild guessing... Jet Ranger?
AlphaOneSix Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Just some wild guessing... Jet Ranger? A wild guess is better than no guess! Not a Jet Ranger, though. Speaking of which, I did actually do some work on a Bell 407 yesterday. But that has nothing to do with this picture. ;)
Lucas_From_Hell Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Hmm... MD 500? Nope, stick doesn't match... Robinson R22/44/66 maybe?
AlphaOneSix Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Hmm... MD 500? Nope, stick doesn't match... Robinson R22/44/66 maybe? Nope. Eventually we'll get there by process of elimination!
topol-m Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Is this a military helicopter? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Griffin Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 I`m definitely not very excited about that idea, don`t know about the others. :D..... And about the easy military questions, you don`t know what I`m capable of ;) I can find you riddles that will take days to answer I assure you. We could start easy and not ask some ancient and unique aircraft. We have come to a point where it's impossible to post a picture of the whole aircraft without somebody almost immediately knowing it. Now it has to be a rare cockpit, UAV (eww...), nuts & bolts or an experimental aircraft built by Maya people and is only found in the hieroglyphs of their temples to make it a worthy challenge. I also don't underestimate your ability to find a challenge, I've personally wasted countless hours of my life trying to find answers to them. ;) I guess it's not the time yet. There is still plenty for material that you can bully us with. :D Mi-17 it is! Not the most usual Russian cockpit but remembered the pictures you showed from your work. New riddle coming soon. Will have to spend a few hours finding one.:D
